By the end of this graduate class on computer architecture the learners should be able to

• identify the major trends in current computer architecture designs,
• summarize the contributions of a research paper in computer architecture,
• calculate the benefits of applying a change to the architecture, and
• critique a proposed idea to clearly define its domain of applicability.
